Antique French Wooden Pediment, Door, Armoire, Bed Decoration, French Antique Fronton, Decorative Pediment, Architectural Salvage, Shabby Chic.
This is a large, solid, gorgeous, Antique French carved wooden pediment. This is a particularly large and long piece, it is 43.1″ long. The detail is beautiful, particularly the majestic blazon in the centre. You could keep it as the natural wood color or paint it if you wished.
It has a number of uses from adorning many pieces of furniture, armoires, beds, mirrors but it would look equally good above a door or just as a structural piece to display.
It comes as 1 piece but it actually comprises of 2 pieces that were joined together. This is the original design and making. It has 2 wooden plugs to attach. It has been well crafted. There are a few imperfections to note, but nothing serious. There is evidence of an old repair on the back of the blazon. There is the odd chip on the edge of the wood, some old woodworm that I have treated as a precaution. Traces of dust. All part of the history
It has two wooden plugs fitted into the base which would have been used to fit it to the piece of furniture that it once was part of. These can be removed or used again to fit it to a piece of your own.
